161st Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda was celebrated by Ramakrishna Mission & others as “National Youth day”

Swami Vivekananda ‘s 161st Birth Anniversary was observed as ” National Youth Day ” on 12th January 2024 across India and in many places abroad by Indian diaspora  to celebrate the spirit of youth  as well as role of youth in ushering in transformation in socio-political-cultural-economic development for positive healthy growth of human society. 

Ramakrishna Mission at Paharganj in  Delhi & in Sector -47 Gurugram  celebrated Swami Vivekananda’s Birth Anniversary  with focus on  youth development.  Swami Sarvalokananda Maharaj lead  RKM -Delhi program. 

Vivekananda Institute of Values (VIVA), Ramakrishna Mission Sector- 47, Gurugram, organised program focused on  youth .On  National Youth Day, amidst other programs, VIVA inaugurated Youth Connect, a weekly program. This weekly program will provide a platform to youth between the age of 15-30 years to come together and work on themselves to achieve their highest potential in the light of Swami Vivekananda’s ideas. The young minds get to implement Swamiji’s idea of ‘Be and Make’ under the guidance of the Gurugram center head, Swami Shantatmananda. Youth Connect is a free program available to interested youth every Sunday between 3:00-4:00 pm. 70 children from different institutions attended the inaugural session. 

VIVA conducts value-based workshops for various stakeholders of the society with the aim of introducing everyone in the society to Swamiji’s thought that “Each soul is potentially divine. “

In Kolkata ‘,s New Town ,Subhas Bose Institute of Hotel Management (SBIHM) celebrated  birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda with great fervour and enthusiasm  at SBIHM’s Newtown Campus, as part of the nationwide observance of National Youth Day. Bidisha Sarkar, CEO, SBIHM highlighted relevance & importance of philosophy of Swami Vivekananda on human development in present time. Swami Sevaparananda Maharaj, Secretary, Vivek Bharti Seva Trust, Belur Math grace the program at New Town.
