“Your Grave Will Be Dug” Barb Is Replied To By PM With His Own Motto
The opposition Congress party was criticized harshly by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24 for using the chant “Modi, your grave will be dug” at a gathering in the capital city of Meghalaya, Shillong. The nation and its citizens are responding by stating “Modi Tera Kamal Khilega(Modi, your lotus will bloom),” the prime minister claimed.
PM Modi cautioned that anyone using offensive language or thinking would receive a befitting reply from the nation while speaking at an election rally.
Members of the Congress party are said to have chanted the divisive phrase after one of its top leaders, Pawan Khera, was allegedly denied boarding a flight to Chhattisgarh on February 23 at the Delhi airport. On social media, a video of the incident was extensively disseminated. After being detained by the Assam Police on suspicion of creating religious enmity by reportedly insulting the Prime Minister’s father, Mr. Khera was later released on bail.
The Prime Minister demanded a “People’s first” government in Meghalaya, accusing the Congress party of following a family first policy while ignoring the controversy surrounding the arrest, which was also called into question by the Supreme Court. The lotus flower has come to represent Meghalaya’s strength, calm, and stability because the state now prefers a government that puts the needs of the people before those of the family, he claimed.
Prior to the election rally, PM Modi held a roadshow in Shillong and praised the locals for their support.
Elections for the Meghalayan Legislature and Nagaland are scheduled for February 27. Voter tallies will be tallied on March 2. With PM Modi advocating for a government that places a high priority on development and the well-being of the populace, the BJP has been actively campaigning in the area.
