While the skincare industry is booming with a plethora of products, not all of them may be good for your skin health. In fact, as it turns out, some of these “popular” skincare products and trends should be ditched as they could be causing more harm than good to your skin as advised by dermatologist.
Sunscreen spray: Might work for your body for reapplication, but on the face, it means you are literally breathing in half of the chemicals. Treat your lungs better as it is not good for them.
Extremely aromatic skin care products: Heavily fragranced items can easily dry out your skin. People with oily skin might also end up developing dry patches. “Products with potent fragrances are likely to cause allergies in people with sensitive skin. A large part of the population has sensitive skin. On such skin, it’s medically incorrect to use skin creams with powerful aromas,” he says.
Physical exfoliating scrubs: They cause micro tears in your skin, which heal with pigmentation.
“Physical exfoliation with scrubs is damaging to the skin barrier. Products that contain tiny beads or granules can disrupt the skin protection barrier and make the skin more susceptible for damage,”
