ANTI ADDICTION CAMPAIGN NUMBER 395 AT JULIEN DAY SCHOOL HOWRAH

Julien Day School Howrah was brimming with excitement on the news of actor/activist /teacher of method acting Bobby Chakraborty coming down with his global, free of cost, award winning awareness program against addiction and harmful social trends for the youth, on May 11th, for his 395th session.

The Principal Mrs. Maryann Thorpe Smith who is a great supporter of this mission , in association with Julien Educational Trust organized this program with the help of her extremely competent team, comprising of the Vice Principal Mr. Troy Ward and the Teacher in charge Mr. Dale Jude Dolby at the top.

This session was live streamed on YouTube and Facebook for the eager parents to be a part of the mission too, which garnered an immensely positive feedback from them.

The official photographer of this superhit session was Aabeer Bairagi, assisted by Shatadru Saha, both students of JDSH.

Students of Classes 7-10 , which is Bobby dada’s primary target audience, gathered In the school auditorium with a lot of enthusiasm and what happened after that was magic! The issues of substance abuse, addiction to smart phones, abusive language, cyber bullying, losing self respect for ‘views’ or ‘followers’ online and the importance of the formula HCF(health,career,family) for a person’s wellbeing,.were discussed in a way that only Bobby dada could do.

 Everyone related to every point of his so much so that, many of them were in tears! Some said these are tears of happiness because this much needed awareness program was happening in their school at last, whereas others cried profusely and hugged Bobby dada tight because they didn’t want to let him go!

The ceremonial title of the ‘1st soldier’ went to Shatadru Saha, who along with his friends, Uddipta and Aakrish sketched images of Bobbydada ,as they were hearing him and gifted him those. Bobbydada was overwhelmed!

The title of the ‘trendsetter’ went to soldier Srija Adhikary, who impressed Bobbydada with her behaviour and manners.

The winners of the surprise contest at the end had winners Debtanu, Rai and Zoya, who along with Aabir received specially personalised prizes and Community Service Certificates from Bobbydada, which will come in a lot of use in their college admission and scholarships in future.

The session ended with soldiers , teachers, non teaching staffs, raising their hands and shouting out the mantra of their lives “I am the king of my mind” at the top of their voices.
