SUPERHIT ANTI ADDICTION CAMPAIGN NO. 396 AT SRI SRI ACADEMY, ALIPORE, KOLKATA
It was Actor/Activist/Teacher of Method Acting Bobby Chakraborty’s 396th and his 4th session of his award winning,free of cost,global awareness program against addiction and harmful social trends among the youth, at Sri Sri Academy, Kolkata on 23rd June. We have a first hand account of the absolutely engaging, entertaining and educative adda of Bobbydada with his soldiers at SSA.
Students of the 7th -9th grade thronged a full house of the school auditorium, eager to hear from him, as the PRO Rita Dasgupta ma’am along with all the other teachers warmly welcomed him there.
The official photographer of this sparkling session was Yuval Lohia of class IX. Bobbydada was absolutely impressed with Yuval’s hardwork, manners and his sense of responsibility. The assistant photographer was Bhavya from class VII.
The Principal, Gargi Banerjee ma’am, who is a great supporter of this mission,felicitated Bobbydada before he took stage.
How the next 2 hours passed by,one couldn’t realize as Bobbydada , with his eloquent humour and emotion spoke about the mishap in his family and the burning issues of substance abuse, smart phone abuse, decline of self respect and social responsibility in quest of ‘views’ and ‘subscribers’ online, rampant use of foul language, online gambling in disguise of ‘games’ etc. He laid down simple yet powerful ways to stay away from these evils which are destroying our generation. He stressed on following the formula of life which is HCF( Health-Career- Family). He made the audience chant out the positive mantra of life ‘I AM THE KING OF MY MIND’ on top of their voices which sounded like a war cry.
The ‘first soldier selected was Eshaan Jain from class VII, who made a promise to remain a soldier all his life.
The winners of the surprise contest at the end were Jasmine J. Sinha(who impressed Bobbydada with her attentiveness and values of life) , Anirved Chakraborty, Md. Humza(who gave a big hug to Bobbydada) , who along with Yuval were given specially personalized gifts and community service certificates by Bobbydada.
After the session was over the students wouldn’t allow Dada to leave, as they were totally enthralled by his presence and crowded all around him for a hug,a selfie,touching his feet and getting his autograph on wherever and whatever they could lay their hands on.
