Maj Gen Vivek Tyagi took over as Additional Director General of West Bengal & Sikkim from Maj Gen U S Sengupta on 06 July 23. Handing/Taking over ceremony was conducted at the NCC Directorate located at New Alipore Office, Kolkata.
An Infantry Officer, Maj Gen Vivek Tyagi carries vast operational experience and has served in varied terrains. He has been in Counter Terrorism assignments and served on Line of Control, High Altitude areas. The officer has held sensitive staff appointments and important instructional tenures including Indian Military Academy and The Infantry School.
Maj Gen Vivek Tyagi commanded a Multi National Brigade in the UN Mission and was GOC of an active Division deployed in western sector before taking on this important assignment towards furthering NCC efforts in Nation Building.
