Bharat Sanskarti Utsav was held with great success and grandeur

The 16th Bharat Sanskarti Utsav was auspiciously inaugurated on 8th December 2023 with a colorful Padayatra. In the evening, the opening dance of hundreds of artists and with the melodious voice of Bhajan Samrat Padmashri Anup Jalota, along with the lighting of the lamp by eminent sages including Ramakrishna Mission Principal Maharaj and the presence of around 1500 to 2000 visitors added to the grand Event.
Maharaj Swami Agneyananda Ji , Mayor of Burdwan Municipality Mr. Paresh Sarkar, Vice President of BDA Mr. Ainul Haque, Prominent artists of India including C Sri Shubmoy Chakraborty were present to grace the occasion. The opening dance performance of hundreds of artists under the direction of Amrita Das, the famous dance artist of Burdwan, deserves special appreciation from the audience.
After the opening dance, the guests were welcomed by the general secretary of the festival Pandit Prasenjit Poddar, convener Dr. Devesh Thakur and coordinator Shri Shyamal Das Mahashay.
The much awaited program of Bardhaman began with Pandit Anup Jalota’s Bhajan. ‘Rang De Chunaria’, “Maye Nehi Makhan Khaye” bhajan followed by popular bhajans and the ghazal show enthralls the audience.
Pandit Prasenjit Poddar ably accompanied Anupji on Tabla. Prasenjit Poddar’s Tabla along with Pandit Jalota at times of bhajans provided special entertainment to the audience. This event of Bharat Sanskarti Utsav will be marked and remembered forever by the entire Burdwan residents.

From December 10th to December 12th, the talent of 2852 contestants was explored in a total of 98 hours of competition. Apart from this, Indian music and dance festival was held every day from 6 pm on two stages in Town Hall Maidan and Theatre. The festival features 52 vocal artists, 76 collective dance troupes along with recitals, dramas and poetry gatherings. Among the other attractions of this year’s Bharat Sanskarti Utsav, one of the attractions was the 75th year of Independence with a hundred-voice vocal music directed by Monika Tagore and Kalyan Banerjee, and the hundred-voice recital was directed by Dr. Debesh Tagore added with hundred-dancer assembling led by Amrita Das.
Shri Arup Das, President of Bharat Sanskarti Utsav informed that the contestants from Burdwan stood first in all subjects , they have been given a chance to participate in the Bharat Culture Festival in Kolkata for free, he added, like every year, the successful contestants will be given a 1-year scholarship, free travel abroad to participate in international competitions, and cash prizes will be given as prizes.
On the last day of the festival i.e. 13th December 2023, the award distribution festival started at Burdwan Sanskarti Lokmanch from 4 PM. This year, out of 2852 contestants, a total of 862 people were awarded. The recipients of the award said that Bharat Sanskarti Utsav is now the greatest festival in the world, in this festival all the competitions are held on the stage, not in a closed room and not by any local judges, but judged by the established artists and gurus of the society, so the number of contestants participating in this festival is increasing day by day.
Finally, Pandit Prosenjit Poddar, general secretary of the festival, said that “our aim is not to organize a fair, but to hire an artist from outside and gather people. our mission – to develop the Indian art culture, to give recognition to the students by properly evaluating their education, to give them a platform abroad, to establish them as real artists – this mission we are working on and are being succeeded gradually”.
Besides that Bharat Sanskarti Utsav was held at Kolkata Violin Barisha High School Maidan and Violin Sarat Sadan from 23rd December to 30th December with great success and grandeur.
