Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” has reportedly leaked online just a day before its official release, igniting a frenzy among fans who have been eagerly awaiting its debut.
Numerous social media users have been sharing tracks from the album, with some claiming to have accessed them through a Google Drive link containing the entire 17-song list. While some fans have eagerly delved into the leaked tracks, others have staunchly insisted on waiting for the official release on Friday, emphasizing their dedication as true fans. The unveiling of Swift’s 11th studio album was initially announced at the Grammy Awards in February, marking her first collection of entirely new material since October 2022’s “Midnights.” On social media platforms like X (formerly known as Twitter), reactions to the leak varied, with some fans expressing their refusal to listen to the leaked music before the official release, while others flooded the platform with false links to divert attention from the leak.
Amidst the chaos, some fans underscored the importance of respecting the hard work put into the album by Swift and her team. One user emphasized the significance of waiting for the official release, highlighting the meticulous planning behind the album’s rollout and urging others not to disrespect the process.
Speculation also arose among fans regarding the authenticity of the leaked tracks, with some suggesting that they could be fake creations generated by artificial intelligence. However, it’s worth noting that similar AI-generated tracks shared online in the past turned out to be older, lesser-known Swift songs.
This isn’t the first time Swift has encountered issues related to AI. In January, X took measures to block searches for “Taylor Swift” after explicit AI-generated images of the singer circulated on the platform.
The leak of “The Tortured Poets Department” comes amidst high anticipation within Swift’s fan community, especially as it coincides with the upcoming blockbuster Eras tour in Europe this summer. Despite the leak, Swift’s previous album, “Midnights,” still achieved commercial success, selling 1.6 million copies in its first week in the US and earning Swift her fourth Grammy for Album of the Year.
In addition to her musical accomplishments, Swift recently made headlines for joining the ranks of the world’s wealthiest individuals. According to a new rich list, Swift entered the Forbes World’s Billionaires List for the first time, alongside other notable figures like Elon Musk, with an estimated net worth of $1.1 billion.
