Renowned film star and Bengal BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his remarkable responsiveness and genuine demeanor, emphasizing their personal interactions as evidence of the Prime Minister’s charismatic qualities. Speaking from his experience, Chakraborty highlighted instances where PM Modi’s promptness and sincerity left a lasting impression.
Chakraborty, who was recently honored with a Padma Shri award, recounted his initial meetings with PM Modi, reflecting on the Prime Minister’s ability to engage in meaningful conversations despite his busy schedule. One such encounter, during an event in Bengal, stood out for Chakraborty, where PM Modi dedicated exclusive time to converse with him. “Soon after the meeting, he called out for me. ‘Mithun da, I wish to speak to you for some time’,” Chakraborty recalled, emphasizing the genuine and charismatic nature of their interaction. He remarked, “Those 10 minutes were truly charismatic. Not because he is the PM, but due to his natural behaviour and responsive nature. The impact is still on me.”
Highlighting PM Modi’s exceptional responsiveness, Chakraborty shared insights into their communication, noting the Prime Minister’s promptness in replying to messages. Despite PM Modi’s demanding schedule, Chakraborty was impressed by the swift responses he received. “He is quite busy, so it’s natural to expect replies after two or three days,” Chakraborty acknowledged. “But I received responses within 10-15 minutes. Once, I noted that the longest time he took to reply to my message was 23 minutes.” Even when PM Modi was abroad, navigating different time zones, Chakraborty marveled at the Prime Minister’s commitment to communication. “In another instance, when he was in Germany and in a different time zone, he still replied promptly, saying, ‘We shall discuss tomorrow’,” he added.
Speaking further on PM Modi’s sincerity in personal relations, Chakraborty commended the Prime Minister’s approach of inviting genuine discussions rather than resorting to vague assurances. “PM Modi is someone who never resorts to the common rhetoric of ‘Let’s see’. I prefer to stay away from such individuals. PM Modi always invites, ‘Come, let’s discuss’,” Chakraborty affirmed, underscoring the Prime Minister’s commitment to meaningful engagement and collaboration.
