Kangana Ranaut, known for her bold statements, recently criticized the film industry for its silence following an incident where she was allegedly slapped by a CISF officer at Chandigarh airport. The incident occurred on June 6 as Ranaut was traveling to New Delhi. In response, Ranaut took to Instagram to express her disappointment with her peers in Bollywood, but later deleted her post.
In her now-deleted Instagram story, Ranaut addressed the film industry, accusing them of either celebrating or remaining silent about the incident. She wrote, “Dear film industry, you all are either celebrating or are totally mum on the airport attack on me. Remember, if tomorrow you are walking disarmingly on some street of your country or anywhere else in the world and some Israeli or Palestinian hits you or your children just because you tried to bring eyes to Rafah or stood up for an Israeli hostage… then you will see I will be fighting for your rights of free speech. If someday you wonder why I am where I am, remember you are not me.”
Ranaut’s post reflects her frustration with the lack of support from her colleagues and highlights her commitment to speaking out against injustices. This incident adds to the ongoing controversies surrounding Ranaut, who has been vocal about various issues within and outside the film industry.
Her actions continue to polarize public opinion, with some supporting her outspoken nature and others criticizing her for creating unnecessary drama. The slap incident and her subsequent comments have once again placed Ranaut in the spotlight, raising questions about the dynamics and solidarity within Bollywood.
As the industry grapples with these internal conflicts, Ranaut’s experience serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by celebrities who step outside the conventional boundaries of their roles. Whether or not the industry will respond to her call for solidarity remains to be seen, but Ranaut’s unwavering stance ensures that her voice will continue to be heard.
