A nationwide Bharat Bandh is set to take place on August 21, 2024, organized by the Reservation Bachao Sangharsh Samiti in response to a recent Supreme Court ruling on reservations for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). The ruling, which permits states to establish sub-categories within these groups, has ignited significant controversy and protest across the country.

Despite the anticipated disruptions caused by the bandh, several essential services are expected to remain functional. While public transportation and private offices might experience closures, crucial services such as emergency medical assistance will continue to operate.
