With Koratala Siva directing Devara: Part 1, Jr. NTR is set to make his big-screen comeback after more than two years away. On September 27, the action thriller, which also stars Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor in major roles from Bollywood, will be released in theaters. The Telugu movie has broken the advance sales record for an Indian film in the United States, selling over 15,000 tickets before its premiere.
The official X Twitter for the movie tweeted the news. “Devara becomes the fastest to hit 15K+ tickets for any Indian film in the USA,” the film’s makers said, sharing a poster of the movie. “Count has begun with $500K+ pre-sales for USA premieres,” according to a another post. Previews for Devara begin on September 26.
The other two South Korean movies, Kalki 2898 AD (2024) and RRR (2022), were previously in the headlines for their remarkable pre-sales in the USA.
The trailer release date for Devara: Part 1 was revealed by the film’s makers in a new special poster that was released on Saturday. The film’s developers shared a poster showing Jr. NTR dressed entirely in black, revealing that the trailer will debut on September 10. The film’s creators previously released the first video song, “Daavudi,” which has amassed over 30 million views.
Prod by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts, and presented by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, the film features important roles for Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, and Narain.
