Protests for R G Kar get a Global response : More than 27 countries participate

Protestors and activists around the globe gather together to show their support regarding the RG Kar murder case . While in India protests are in full swing with candle marches not only in Kolkata but across the country, Indians around the globe have shown up in protests to reclaim the lost justice for Tillotoma. Protests have been organized around 130 cities on Sunday evening just hours ahead of the Supreme court hearing on Monday . The protests are set to be on 5pm in respective standard times of the country .
More than 27 countries including the USA, UK, Germany, South Africa have joined in the protest for R G Kar rape case . Protests have been noted around Mahatma Gandhi statue in London .
“The mere thought that a country which worships the divine feminine energy in form of Maa Durga witnesses the rape of a woman in such a brutal manner “ said one of the protestors in South Africa . People in New Zealand have also been quick in calling for instant justice with hymns of “ we shall overcome”
“It is incredible how people have come together from countries such as the UK, US, England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Czech Republic, Spain, Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa, Mexico, Brazil, and Taiwan. We will be joined in the first-ever global human chain,” said Dipti Jain, the global coordinator of the protest and a doctor from Calcutta National Medical College according to the Sunday Gaurdian .
The protests initially began in Kolkata and reached a peak on 14th August with a “Reclaim The Night” protest where thousands of people gathered for the protest and the streak continued in the days to followed.The protest of reclaiming the night initially staretd out as a response to the victim blaming comments made by Sandip Ghosh ex R G Kar prinicipal who has recently been arrested by the CBI
A global reach was noticed by the end of August itself. Over this weekend rallies around the globe became frequent and a clear inidication of the demands of people for justice. A true global cause as of today ,The hearing of the Supreme Court tomorrow holds the answer protestors are looking for .
