Class 8 student sexually harassed in Dehradun’s School

At the Welham Boys’ School in Dehradun, there has been a reported case of sexual harassment involving a Class 8 pupil. The zero FIR that was initially filed in Shillong by the survivor’s father, a former Meghalaya Police officer, has since been moved to Dalanwala Kotwali. The father took his son out of the school and went back to Shillong, claiming that the authorities had done nothing.
Dehradun City SP Pramod Kumar told, “The case, registered under Pocso Act, has been transferred from Meghalaya to Uttarakhand. The investigation is underway. We are questioning individuals concerned.”

Principal Sangeeta Kain, however, stated that the following receipt of the parents’ complaint, the school had met with the pupil. According to Kain, the parents were questioned by the school administration about any other information they could have to help with the investigation, but they did not provide any more details.

On May 18, the school was closed when the pupil departed for home. The zero FIR that was initially filed in Shillong by the minor’s father, a former Meghalaya Police officer, has since been moved to Dalanwala Kotwali.
