Jhonny Depp to receive Lifetime Achievement Award in Rome Film Festival

The Rome Film Festival has declared that in 2024, Johnny Depp will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award. According to Deadline, Depp’s most recent film, Modi – Three Days on the Wing of Madness, will be screened at the festival in addition to receiving the honor.

Depicting a “seventy-two-hour whirlwind in the life of bohemian artist Amedeo Modigliani,” Modi explores the turbulent experiences of the artist against the backdrop of a devastated Paris in 1916. Riccardo Scamarcio and French actor Antonia Desplat are also in the movie.

The description of the movie describes Modigliani’s tribulations as he flees the police. He encounters opposition from fellow artists Maurice Utrillo, Chaim Soutine, and his muse, Beatrice Hastings, as he considers quitting the city and ending his career.

According to Deadline, Modigliani’s night of hallucinations worsens when he seeks advice from his friend and art dealer Leopold Zborowski. This contact with the American collector Maurice Gangnat could change the trajectory of Modigliani’s life.

Modi will next be seen in Rome after making its premiere at the San Sebastian Film Festival. According to Deadline, Viggo Mortensen will also receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the festival and screen his movie The Dead Don’t Hurt.

This story follows Vicky Krieps’s character, Vivienne Le Coudy, as she negotiates a complicated relationship with Mortensen’s character, Danish immigrant Holgen Olsen. The American Civil War in the 1860s provides a turbulent backdrop for the development of their love tale.The Rome Film Festival is set to return in 2024 and run from October 16–27.
