Prashant Kishor, a former poll strategist who is now a politician, formally introduced the “Jan Suraaj Party,” his new political organization, in Patna on Wednesday. Kishore said during the launch that the party has been in operation for the last two years and has just been given approval by the Indian Election Commission.

With the approval of the Election Commission, the Jan Suraaj Party is anticipated to run in every seat in the next Bihar Assembly elections.Saying that the Jan Suraaj Party is a “amalgamation of both RSS and minorities,” Kishor took a subtle jab at the Opposition for raising concerns about his party’s purported links to the BJP.

Prashant Kishor, who addressed the assembly, estimated that in order to attain world-class standards, Bihar’s education system would need to undergo a major revamp, costing around Rs 5 lakh crore over the course of the next ten years.

Speaking on the state’s alcohol prohibition, Kishor contended that educational reform could be the better use of the yearly revenue lost (about Rs 20,000 crore).

“When the liquor ban is removed, that money won’t go into the budget for roads, water, electricity, or security for leaders. It will be used only for building a new education system in Bihar,” he said, underscoring the urgency of investing in the state’s future.
