Ola Electric receives a show cause notice from the Consumer Protection Authority

The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has issued a show-cause notice to Ola Electric in response to many complaints from customers about its services. In a regulatory filing dated October 7, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) about the notification. The notification was sent out in response to several complaints made by customers, including ones concerning unfulfilled promises, delayed car delivery, and flaws in the automobiles themselves.
An analysis of the complaints uncovered that a large percentage of complaints were with service or repair delivery delays (3,364 complaints), vehicle delivery delays (1,899), and cases where promised services were not rendered (1,459). Additional grievances encompass automobile imperfections, inadequate resolution of concerns, deceptive marketing, and absence of reimbursement for canceled reservations.
Ola Electric has been given 15 days by the CCPA to reply to the notification and turn in the necessary paperwork. The business has stated that it will abide with the authority’s request in the allotted time.The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, Regulation 30, were followed while making the file.The quality of Ola Electric scooters, service issues, and unresolved customer complaints were the topics of a recent public feud on social media between Ola founder Bhavish Aggarwal and stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra.
