Six workers and a doctor killed in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir

Terrorists opened fire on a building site at Gagangir in the Ganderbal region of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, killing a doctor and six construction workers, according to official sources. The attack on non-local laborers was described as “dastardly and cowardly” by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
“Praying that the injured make a full recovery as the more seriously injured are being referred to SKIMS, Srinagar,” Mr. Abdullah wrote on X.
The terrorists had fired on a camp where employees of a private enterprise were working on a tunnel that was still under construction in the Gund area. To find the attackers, the army and police have surrounded the area.The Jammu and Kashmir Police’s X handle said, “Terror incident in Gagangeer, Ganderbal.” Security personnel have blocked off the area. More information will be provided later.
Union minister NItin Gadkari has condemned the “horrific” terror attack. In a post on X, the minister said the “innocent labourers” were engaged in a vital infrastructure project. “I strongly condemn the horrific terror attack on innocent labourers in Gagangir, Sonamarg, Jammu & Kashmir, who were engaged in a vital infrastructure project,” Mr Gadkari’s post read.”I offer my humble tribute to the martyred labourers and extend my deepest condolences to their families during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with the injured for a swift and full recovery,” he added.
