Every day, Indian Railways transport millions of passengers. Railways make every effort to attend to each passenger’s demands. Trains are used by everyone, from young children to elderly people. Senior persons receive unique perks from railroads. if you reserve a lower train seat for your elderly parents and they are not assigned to it. We are going to explain the process to you now.
The Railways have created a number of regulations to help senior folks. This facilitates their travel. Senior persons can reserve lower berths. IRCTC said that senior citizens might easily be assigned to lower berths. In a tweet, a traveler claimed that he had purchased a train ticket for his uncle and had requested the lower bed due to a leg issue, but the Railways nevertheless assigned him an upper berth.
Railways responded to the passenger’s tweet by stating that if you purchase a ticket under the general quota, you will only be assigned a seat if one is available. You won’t receive a seat if there isn’t one. You will be assigned a lesser berth if you make your reservation using Reservation Choice Book alone.
According to the railways, seats are only given to people who book under the public quota when there are seats available. The first come, first served policy applies to these seats. Human intervention is not used to get a seat in the general quota. You can, however, approach TTE and bargain for a lower berth for yourself. You will be given a lower bunk if one is available.
