Private investment need to improve in the road sector. Our efforts towards infrastructure has to be resilient, transparent and sustainable and both private and public participation is very important. Capital expenditure has increased over the years with multiplier effect on various segment of economy. In road sector, still 85 to 90 percent of cost of the project are covered by public expenditure. We need to strategize more private investment in road sector. Private investment has a lot of potential in the road sector. Infrastructure projects need to attract finance. InvITs could be a game changer for infrastructure financing in India. Bankers and financiers have to be included in the infrastructure finance ecosystem and trust is a very important factor among all the stakeholders.
