Vikrant Massey wins IFFI Goa’s Personality of the Year award.

On November 28, the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) came to a close with a lavish closing ceremony at Goa’s Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium. The nine-day festival was a worldwide celebration of cinema, including more than 200 films from 75 nations.

A jury that included Ashutosh Gowariker as the chairperson, Anthony Chen, Elizabeth Karlsen, Fran Borgia, and Jill Bilcock attended the ceremony and chose the winners in each of the categories.

Personality of the Year: The recipient of this honor was actor Vikrant Massey, who is most recognized for his performance in 12th Fail. Best Debut Director of Indian Feature Film: For his Marathi film Gharat Ganpati, Navjyot Bandivadekar was designated the Best Debut Director of Indian Feature Film.

 Crossing, directed by Swedish filmmaker Levan Akin, was awarded the esteemed ICFT-UNESCO Gandhi Medal. Films that support human rights, nonviolence, and peace are eligible to receive this prize. Australian filmmaker Phillip Noyce received the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the film industry.
