11th Kolkata International Children ‘s Film Festival to open on 22nd January 2025

11th edition of Kolkata International Children ‘s Film Festival( KICFF 2025) will be organised on 22nd – 28th January 2025 having theme ” Fantasy ” .
Inaugural film will be of Director Dhruva Harsh’s Gujarati language film “Elham” .
The festival will be inaugurated by Taiyo Chan and Totto Chan child artistes of the inaugural film Elham. Inauguration is expected to be attended by Goutam Ghose eminent film maker , West Bengal Cabinet Ministers Firhad Hakim, Aroop Biswas , Bratya Basu , Shashi Panja , Chandrima Bhattacharya, Minister of State Indranil Sen , Principal Secretary I & CA Department Santanu Basu and other officials and many eminent personalities.
Kolkata International Children’s Film Festival (KICFF )is being organised on the initiative of visionary leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Banerjee from its inception as part of nurturing creativity of children and others. KICFF is not only enriching cultural scape of Kolkata, West Bengal , India but also contributing in healthy development of mental health of people as well as building bridges of understanding and fostering global goodwill. KICFF is symbolising unity in diversity.
KICFF2025 is being presented by Shishu Kishore Akademi and organised by Information & Cultural Affairs Department Government of West Bengal. 30 countries are participating.116Films to be screened for 7 days in 9 venues. Venues are : Nandan I, II, IlI , Rabindra Sadan , Sisir Mancha,
Rabindra Okakura Bhavan , Rabindra Tirtha ,
Chalachchitra Shatabarsha Bhavan , Ektara Mukto Mancha ( evening show at 6pm ). Show time for 8 venues : 12pm , 3pm, & 6pm.

KICFF2025 has 6 sections and in each section several films will be screened: 1) Fantasy Film : 22 films ,2) Bengali Panorama Films: 12 films , 3) World Cinema: 75 films from 30 countries including USA, Russia, China , Japan, Germany, Iran , Bulgaria , Czech Republic , 4) Nature/ Environmental Films , 5) Documentaries & Short films : 22films 6) Mobile Film Competition

An exhibition titled :” Hatey Kolomey Cinema” is being held at Gaganendra Shilpa Pradarshashala 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. from 22nd to 28th January.

Closing film of KICFF2025 will be Hindi film ” Pravas ” Directed by Vipul Sharma.
Entry to the film festival is free.
