The Asiatic Society Kolkata is organising
an Exhibition and Series of Lectures
on
Caitanya Mahaprabhu from February 17- 21 , 2025 at its heritage premises.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Lt. Colonel Anant Sinha Administrator of The Asiatic Society alongwith Professor Nrisingha Prasad Bhaduri acclaimed scholar who gave Inaugural lecture on “Chaitanya Perspective” i.e. on philosophy of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
Earlier Lt. Col. Anant Sinha welcomed the august gathering highlighting Chaitanya Mahaprabhu ‘s inclusive but assertive philosophies in life management.
The Asiatic Society is organising exhibition & lecture series in Caitanya Mahāprabhu
in collaboration with
Bhaktivedanta Research Center (BRC). The exhibition is open to general public to facilitate exploration of rich cultural heritage of Bengal and Bharat including its education system of that time .
Dr. Sumanta Rudra Dean Academic BRC in his address paid homage to Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur on his 151st Appearance Day ( Birth Anniversary) which was observed on 17th February 2025.
Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur played pioneering role in strengthening Vaishnavism by spreading Vaishnavism around the world through his disciples and in support & collaboration with Mahatma Sisir Kumar Ghosh and others. Today , Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur is revered by Gaudiya Mission and ISKCON as their Maha Guru. Gaudiya Mission and ISKCON are working to spread message of Caitanya Mahaprabhu around the world.
Smt. Noopur Desai Program Director CSR ,APAR Industries spoke Caitanya Mahaprabhu ‘s pioneering role in starting Civil Disobedience Movement in Bengal to protest against atrocities by rulers over 500 years.She highlighted relevance of philosophy of Caitanya Mahaprabhu in present day society.
