Virat Kohli, a prominent figure in Indian cricket, achieved another significant milestone on Sunday by participating in his 300th One Day International (ODI) match. This landmark event occurred during India’s final ICC Champions Trophy Group A encounter against New Zealand, marking a notable moment in Kohli’s illustrious career. He became the seventh Indian cricketer and the eighteenth player globally to reach the milestone of 300 ODIs. Notably, Kohli had previously faced New Zealand in his 200th ODI, adding to the significance of this occasion.

In addition to this remarkable achievement, Kohli distinguished himself as the first cricketer to have played 300 ODIs while also having participated in at least 100 Test matches and 100 T20 Internationals. While a total of 18 players have reached the 300 ODI milestone for their respective nations, none have concurrently played 100 matches in both of the other international formats.

In 299 ODIs before the start of the New Zealand encounter, Virat had scored 14,085 runs at an average of 58.20 and a strike rate of 93.41. In the 300th ODI, however, Kohli could only add 11 runs to his total.

Virat registered a number of records to his name, en route 14,000 runs in ODI cricket. He is the fastest player ever to reach 8,000 runs (175 innings), 9,000 runs (194 innings), 10,000 runs (205 innings), 11,000 runs (222 innings), 12,000 runs (242 innings), 13,000 runs (287 innings) and 14,000 runs (299 innings) in the 50-over format for India.
