Thailand – India multi- dimensional relationship moving to new high with presentation of Ramayana of Thailand in Indian cities

Thailand – India  multi – dimensional relationship is  expanding  and moving to new high  with several  welcome move by Thailand in recent years.
Thailand and India have historical cultural relationship of over thousands of years  sharing common  heritage  far beyond Buddhism.
“Namaste Thailand Festival 2025″  organised by Embassy of Thailand in New Delhi , Royal Thai Consulate  General in Kolkata  showcasing the majestic and timeless art of Khon, a UNESCO-recognized Intangible Cultural Heritage of Thailand  in New Delhi on 7th February and in Kolkata on 10th February 2025  are important landmarks in  strengthening Thailand – India Relationship.
The Khon Performance  presenting episodes from Ramayana of Thailand displayed shared cultural heritage of both nations. Thai Performers touched  the heart of the audiences in both cities.
The Episode of “HANUMAN- The Mighty Warrior” presented at majestic  Victoria Memorial Hall in Kolkata  enthralled the Kolkata audience composed of people  from different eastern states of India.
The Ramakien, Thailand’s national epic,  has its origins to the Indian Ramayana.
Top artists from the Department of Fine Arts, Ministry of Culture of Thailand presented the performance .
Khon is an extraordinary traditional Thai masked dance-drama that seamlessly blends movement, music and mythology.
Namaste Thailand Festival which is in its sixth year  is going to play important role in encouraging Indian Tourists to explore Thailand and enhance people to people connect.
Relationship between People of Thailand and people of eastern states of India are  strengthening due to efforts of
 Miss Siriporn Tantipanyathep, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata ,Mr. Piyapan Atipatya, Deputy Consul General, Mrs. Napacharapat Kulrakampursiri Consul of Thailand in Kolkata.
 Namaste Thailand Festival 2025 will have spill over positive effect on efforts of  Prime Minister of Thailand  Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra to boost  economy of Thailand.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand has launched  Thailand Summer Festivals, a seven-month celebration under the theme ” 7 Months 7 Wonders” , running from March to September 2025. Featuring over 70 events across seven categories—Songkran, Pride, Cultural Festivals, Music, Sports, Food, and Arts & Creativity as a  part of  “Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025 . ” The Thailand Summer Festivals will showcase diverse events across all regions, boosting local economies while attracting global visitors.
