Co-Traveler Found Dead After Israeli Tourist Gang-Raped In Karnataka Town

On Thursday night in Karnataka, it was reported that three men allegedly gang-raped two women, one being a 27-year-old Israeli tourist and the other a homestay owner. The event took place while they were observing the stars on the tranquil banks of a canal in Koppal, located about 350 km from the tech hub of Bengaluru, along with three other travelers.
The three travellers were shoved into the canal by the accused before he aimed at the women. Although Daniel from the United States and Pankaj, a traveler from Maharashtra, succeeded in swimming to safety, Bibash from Odisha drowned. His remains were discovered Saturday morning.
A high-ranking police official has guaranteed that the suspect will be apprehended shortly. Authorities stated that the women are recuperating in a state hospital.
“Five people – two women and three men – were attacked near Sanapur. Two of them are foreigners – an American, and another a woman from Israel. The woman said in her complaint that besides being beaten up, the two women were sexually assaulted by the accused,” said Ram L Arasiddi, Superintendent of Police, Koppal.
The 29-year-old homestay owner stated in her complaint that she and four guests went stargazing by the Tungabhadra Left Bank Canal after dinner when the suspect showed up on a motorcycle.
They initially inquired about where to obtain petrol and then began requesting Rs 100 from the travelers. Upon being denied, they assaulted the travelers, shoved the men into the canal, and violated the women, the complaint stated. They escaped on their motorcycle after carrying out the crime. Firefighters and the police canine unit searching for the lost tourist – who was eventually discovered deceased.
Fire officials and the police canine unit were sent out to locate Bibash yesterday. His corpse was discovered on the canal bank this morning. The women are recuperating at a public hospital, but police stated that they can be moved to a private hospital if they choose. A police case has been registered under charges of rape, gang-rape, and robbery based on the complaint.
Mr. Arasiddi stated that prompt measures were implemented following the women’s complaint. He stated that the accused are being identified and that two specialized teams are looking into the matter. He stated that the women have received a medical examination to verify the rape.
