India Makes 5 Key Decisions in Firm Reaction

News Mania Desk / Piyal Chatterjee / 24th April 2025

Following the vicious terror attack in Pahalgam, which took innocent lives and sparked widespread anger across the country, India has reacted firmly with a range of assertive diplomatic and strategic actions. In a high-level emergency security meeting, the government sanctioned five major measures designed to convey a strong message to the perpetrators of the attack and their supposed supporters.

One of the significant decisions is that the Indus Water Treaty—a historical accord between India and Pakistan—has been suspended. This action indicates India’s desire to reassess previous agreements in response to ongoing provocations. At the same time, military diplomats from Pakistan assigned to India have been labeled persona non grata and instructed to exit the nation within 48 hours.

India has heightened its worldwide diplomatic efforts by augmenting its foreign missions with 30 more personnel to combat anti-India narratives and secure global backing. In a further escalation of its position, the Indian government has revoked all SAARC visas that were granted to Pakistani citizens. In a meaningful and impactful act, the Wagah-Attari border, an essential connection between the two countries, will remain closed until further information.

These actions underscore India’s strict stance against terrorism and its commitment to ensuring that offenders and their backers face consequences. The international community is currently observing attentively as tensions in the area rise.
