Aaron Civale delivered a stellar pitching performance to lead the Chicago White Sox to a narrow 1–0 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday night at Angel Stadium. The win marked the White Sox’s 42nd of the 2025 season, allowing them to surpass their total wins from the entire 2024 season, when they managed just 41.

Civale, who recently joined the White Sox, was in complete control on the mound. He struck out eight batters, his highest tally this season, while allowing just a single infield hit across 6⅓ innings. The right-hander has been in remarkable form since the All-Star break, giving up only one unearned run in 17⅓ innings and dropping his ERA from 5.30 to 3.99.

The only run of the game came in the second inning. Luis Robert Jr. got on base with a single, stole second, and was driven home by rookie catcher Kyle Teel’s RBI single to center field. Brooks Baldwin also contributed offensively, recording two hits and a walk.

Chicago’s bullpen backed Civale effectively. Brandon Eisert struck out five in 1⅔ perfect innings, while Jordan Leasure sealed the win with a clean ninth inning to earn his third save of the season.

For the Angels, veteran Kyle Hendricks pitched well but took the loss, giving up the sole run over five innings. Offensively, Los Angeles struggled without star outfielder Mike Trout, who missed his second consecutive game due to illness.

This victory continues the White Sox’s resurgence, as they’ve now gone 10–4 since the All-Star break. With Civale anchoring the rotation and young talent stepping up, the team appears to be on track for a strong second-half showing—offering fans a refreshing contrast to last year’s dismal performance.
