Holders Botafogo Disqualified by Ecuador’s Liga De Quito from Copa Libertadores

Ecuador’s Liga de Quito eliminated Botafogo, the reigning Copa Libertadores winner and son of Carlo Ancelotti, in the round of 16 on Thursday. Last week, Davide Ancelotti’s team defeated the Ecuadorian club 2-0 in the return game after winning the first leg 1-0 at home. In the quarterfinals, Liga de Quito will play Sao Paulo FC, another Brazilian team. At Quito, Lisandro Alzugaray scored from the penalty spot in the 60th minute, while Gabriel Villamil scored in the 7th.
