One of the most watched reality series on Indian television is Bigg Boss, and viewers look forward to each new season for its fill of excitement and drama. However, many expressed worries that the show was losing its appeal throughout the last two seasons. With season 19, it appears that the creators have taken the criticism seriously. Fans are already complimenting the season for feeling new, thrilling, and authentically Bigg Boss after just one episode. The elimination of the so-called “cringe anthems” that are supposed to wake up the competitors in season 19 is one of the most significant alterations from the previous two seasons. Rather, as in previous seasons, it has reverted to Bollywood songs.
Fans also shared their views on the first episode of Bigg Boss. One wrote, “Song + secret room! Finally BB19 on a good start.” Another commented, “This season looks good and fresh.” A third comment read, “Bigg Boss ka redemption era is going on or what.” One fan added, “Looks like they finally got the budget to buy song licences vs the stupid anthem.” Another praised the casting and wrote, “BB has clearly opened a personality buffet this szn. No pre-made fds, just raw start!”
Fans criticized Bigg Boss for intervening in the contestants’ decisions and accused the show of being biased towards them in prior seasons. But this year, Bigg Boss has opted to abstain from making decisions, which is consistent with the “Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar” theme—giving the housemates more authority. Bigg Boss invited participants to select a housemate they believed was undeserving of living with them since they had the least fascinating personality on the first day of the competition. Farhana Bhatt was named by the majority, and Bigg Boss declared that her journey was over. In a twist, though, she was transferred to a hidden chamber where she will keep an eye on the competitors around-the-clock and even participate in decision-making.
