Javed Akhtar Responds Sharply to Troll Suggesting He Dress as Woman for Press Conference

Veteran lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar has responded forcefully to a social media user who suggested he dress up as a woman to attend a press conference. The exchange occurred after Akhtar criticized the Taliban’s Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi’s recent visit to India, highlighting the absence of women journalists at his press conference.

Akhtar had expressed his disappointment on social media, stating, “How I wish that the sharp-witted women journalists like Anjana Om Kashyap, Chitra, Navika, and Rubika could attend the first press conference of that woman-hater Talibani who was the official guest of our secular country.” In response, a user suggested, “Sir, you are an artist, why don’t you dress up like a woman and attend that press conference!”

Akhtar’s reply was pointed: “Brother, honestly I am feeling sorry for you. Why are you born with such a low IQ? Nature has not been fair to you. Anyway, at least you can tell your name, eat food on your own, change clothes, and cross a road. You have to be thankful for that.”
