Liverpool returned to winning ways as Mohamed Salah scored his 250th goal for the club in a commanding 2–0 victory over Aston Villa at Anfield on Sunday. The milestone strike came as a huge relief for Jürgen Klopp’s side, who had endured a poor run of form, losing four consecutive Premier League games and six of their last seven in all competitions.

Liverpool capitalised on a defensive lapse just before halftime when Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez’s misplaced pass was intercepted by Salah, who made no mistake in slotting home to give the hosts the lead. Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch doubled the advantage in the 58th minute after his deflected shot found the back of the net, securing three crucial points for the Reds.

The win propelled Liverpool to third place in the Premier League standings, though they remain seven points behind leaders Arsenal. Klopp hailed the performance as a much-needed morale boost ahead of key upcoming fixtures, including a crucial clash with Manchester City and a Champions League tie against Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Arsenal continued their dominant run with a comfortable 2–0 victory over Burnley. Viktor Gyökeres opened the scoring with a powerful header from a Declan Rice corner, before Rice himself found the net just before halftime to seal the win. Manager Mikel Arteta praised his side’s “exceptional” first-half display, highlighting their control and composure throughout the match.

The victory extended Arsenal’s winning streak in the league to five matches, further solidifying their position at the top of the table. With both Liverpool and Arsenal showing strong form, the Premier League title race is shaping up to be an intense battle as the season approaches its decisive phase.
