Chief Guest Mr. Aneesh Sarkar, IPS and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate ,while inaugurated the Salt Lake Affordable Art Fair

The much-awaited second edition of the Salt Lake Affordable Art Fair was held on 7th, 8th, and 9th November at the Aikatan Cultural Centre, celebrating the vibrant creativity of artists from across Bengal. The fair was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr. Aneesh Sarkar, IPS and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate ,while inaugurated the Event with palm paint in the canvas.

Mr. Aneesh Sarkar, IPS and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, in his inaugural address, appreciated the initiative, stating, “Art has the unique power to connect hearts and minds beyond boundaries. Such platforms not only encourage creativity among artists but also help build a more compassionate and culturally vibrant society. I am delighted to see the participation of artists from all walks of life coming together under one roof.”

Curator Ms. Mallika Chanda, Founder of DAUGHTOR Art House, expressed gratitude to all the participants and guests, sharing, “Our goal is to make art accessible to everyone — whether an emerging artist or a first-time buyer. The Affordable Art Fair is about celebrating inclusivity, diversity, and the spirit of Bengal’s creativity.”

The three-day event promises an immersive experience with a blend of traditional and contemporary art forms. Attendees has purchased original artworks at affordable prices, interacted directly with artists, and taken part in engaging workshops and live art demonstrations.

Art patrons and other distinguished guests present were Ms. Ruchika Gupta, President – Sanmarg Group and Mr. Debashis Sen, Founder-Director, New Bengal Consulting Ltd (Ex-IAS, Former Chairman – HIDCO) Guru Sanchita Bhattacharyaa (International Odissi Dancer), Mr Biswarup Dey (Vice President -Bengal Olympic Association),Ms Bhavna Hemani (Social Cultural Ambassador), Mr Ashif Shah (Educationist), Ms Sheila Kapoor (Former Councillor and Painter) and Ms Priyanka Mimani (Owner – Cake Xpress)Ms. Bornali Biswas,Chairman of Bharat Dignity Awards and Amar Agarwal, Owner of Evergreen Events, Ms. Arunima Mallik -Camarus – Film Production followed by cake cutting ceremony.

The Salt Lake Affordable Art Fair 2025 not only highlights Bengal’s artistic excellence but also reinforces the message that art belongs to everyone — bridging the gap between creators and admirers in a colourful celebration of imagination and expression.
