YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has stirred controversy online after sharply criticising the trailer of Dhurandhar, the upcoming action drama featuring Ranveer Singh. Rathee described the visuals as excessively violent, calling them “torture and gore” and likening some scenes to extremist-style brutality. He argued that the film appears to rely on shock-driven violence, and questioned whether such content should be permitted without stricter scrutiny from the censor board.

Rathee’s post triggered an immediate reaction on social media, with several users highlighting that he had previously praised Gangs of Wasseypur, a film also known for its graphic violence. Responding to this, Rathee acknowledged that he had changed his stance, saying he was “wrong back then” and had not fully understood the effect such films could have on audiences.

The debate escalated when actor Ranvir Shorey joined the discussion, taking a direct swipe at Rathee. Shorey remarked that Rathee was “wrong most of the time” and suggested that the YouTuber had turned this pattern into a successful online persona. Rathee hit back by pointing to Shorey’s participation in Bigg Boss OTT, implying that the actor relied on “fake fights” for visibility.
