IIT Kharagpur Signs MoU with SNF Flopam India Pvt. Ltd. to Advance Industry–Academia Collaboration

Kharagpur, India — 02 December, 2025 IIT Kharagpur has entered into a strategic partnership with SNF Flopam India Pvt. Ltd. through the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering collaborative research, innovation, and technological advancement in the field of oil and gas engineering.

SNF Flopam India Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of the global SNF Group, is the world’s leading manufacturer of water-soluble polymers based on acrylamide monomers. The MoU was signed in the presence of Mr. Shital Khot, Chairman & Managing Director, SNF Flopam India Pvt. Ltd., Prof. Debalay Chakrabarti, Associate Dean (R&D), IIT Kharagpur, Mr. Santanu Das, Deputy Registrar, IIT Kharagpur, Prof. Paresh Nath Singha Roy, Head, Deysarkar Centre of Excellence in Petroleum Engineering, Prof. Sandeep D. Kulkarni, Associate Professor, Deysarkar Centre of Excellence in Petroleum Engineering. During the ceremony, Mr. Shital Khot highlighted SNF’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with leading academic institutions to accelerate research-driven, practical solutions for real-time field challenges. This collaboration aims to combine IIT Kharagpur’s research expertise with SNF’s industrial leadership, creating a platform for impactful innovations that address pressing technological and operational challenges in the energy sector.
