O Romeo marks the return of Shahid Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj’s eagerly awaited collaboration. O Romeo, which is set in post-independence Mumbai, examines the city’s grim changes as the contemporary underworld starts to take root. The narrative tracks a young man as he negotiates the changing power structures in a rapidly developing criminal environment.
The film explores the origins of organized crime in a dynamic, recently independent India by weaving a tale of ambition and survival through the dark streets of a quickly changing metropolis. As previously declared by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, O Romeo also represents the first time Vishal Bhardwaj and producer Sajid Nadiadwala have worked together. Following Kaminey (2009), Haider (2014), and Rangoon (2017), the movie brings Vishal and Shahid back together.

It built the stage for the second half to dominate perfectly, I feel like I did not watch the same movie as majority of the audience and critics lol. This is probably Shahid Kapoor’s best performance after the likes of Haider and Kabir Singh (Hate the movie but the performance is a monstrous masterpiece of a character study done right), truly sensational.
