Skål International Kolkata Celebrates International Women’s Day with Inspiring Sessions on Health and Financial Awareness

Kolkata: : Skål International Kolkata marked International Women’s Day with a special celebration at Peerless Hotels in Kolkata on 7 March 2026, bringing together members and industry professionals to recognise and celebrate the achievements of women in the travel, tourism, and hospitality sectors.

The event began with an opening address by the President of Skål International Kolkata, Amin Asghar, who emphasised the importance of empowerment through knowledge and dialogue. “Celebrating International Women’s Day with insightful sessions on health and financial awareness reflects our commitment to empowering women. Skål International Kolkata is proud to bring our members together to recognise and celebrate the remarkable contributions of women,” he said.

Managing Director of Peerless Hotels, Debasree Roy Sarkar, thanked Skål International Kolkata for organising the initiative and supporting meaningful conversations around women’s empowerment.

The evening featured a series of informative sessions by distinguished speakers. Noted health and wellness expert and nutritionist Hema Gandhi spoke about the importance of mindful eating and regular exercise for maintaining overall health and well-being. Financial professional and women and child investment specialist Nishi Agarwal shared insights on building a prudent investment mindset to ensure long-term financial security.

Adding a lively element to the evening, a travel-themed quiz hosted by Amit Sengupta engaged participants and celebrated their knowledge of the travel industry. Prizes for the quiz were sponsored by Summit Hotels, Vedic Village Spa Resort, Taj Ganga Kutir, and Aminia restaurant.

The evening was marked by inspiring conversations, meaningful networking, and heartfelt recognition of women who continue to break barriers and lead with passion. From established industry leaders to emerging professionals, the gathering reflected the strength, talent, and spirit that women bring to the community.

A soulful singing duet added a cultural touch to the celebration, uplifting the mood of the evening with music.
