Former West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh is likely to be fielded as a candidate by the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming assembly bypolls in West Bengal, according to party sources.
The senior BJP leader, who previously served as the state unit president and played a key role in expanding the party’s presence in Bengal politics, is expected to take an active role in the electoral contest. Party insiders suggest that his candidature could strengthen the BJP’s campaign in the constituency where the bypoll will be held.
Although the party has not yet made an official announcement, discussions within the BJP leadership are reportedly underway regarding the final selection of candidates.
Dilip Ghosh remains one of the prominent faces of the BJP in West Bengal and has been closely associated with the party’s organisational growth in the state over the past decade.
