The much-anticipated Bollywood sequel Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, has rewritten box office history with a record-breaking opening day collection worldwide.
According to early estimates, the film grossed approximately ₹240 crore globally on its first day, making it the biggest opening ever for a Hindi film. The film’s domestic performance was equally impressive, earning around ₹145 crore net in India—an unprecedented figure in Bollywood history.
With this massive debut, Dhurandhar 2 has surpassed the opening day collections of several blockbuster films, including Jawan, Pathaan, Animal, and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. It now stands among the biggest openers in Indian cinema, trailing only Pushpa 2: The Rule in overall records.
Trade analysts attribute the film’s phenomenal start to strong advance bookings, extensive paid previews, and high audience anticipation. The film’s large-scale action narrative and pan-India appeal have also contributed significantly to its widespread success across domestic and international markets.
Notably, Dhurandhar 2 has become the first Bollywood film to cross the ₹200 crore mark globally on its opening day, setting a new benchmark for future releases. With such an extraordinary start, industry experts predict a dominant box office run in the coming days, positioning the film as one of the biggest hits of the year.
