The International Cricket Council has announced Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan and India’s Arundhati Reddy as the ICC Players of the Month for February 2026, recognising their exceptional performances on the international stage.
Farhan secured the men’s award following a sensational campaign in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The Pakistan opener emerged as the tournament’s standout performer, amassing 383 runs in seven matches at a remarkable average of 76.60 and an impressive strike rate. His tally included two centuries, making him the first batter to achieve this milestone in a single edition of the T20 World Cup. In doing so, he surpassed the previous record for most runs in a single tournament edition, earlier held by Virat Kohli.
Expressing his delight, Farhan described the recognition as a proud moment in his career, especially given the global stage on which his performances came. He credited his teammates and support staff for their role in his success and emphasised his desire to maintain consistency in future tournaments.
On the women’s side, Arundhati Reddy earned the accolade after playing a pivotal role in India’s T20 International series victory against Australia. The right-arm pacer delivered a series of match-winning performances, finishing as the leading wicket-taker with eight wickets in three matches at an outstanding average.
Her most notable outing came in Sydney, where she recorded career-best figures of 4 for 22, helping India secure a historic series win on Australian soil. Reddy said the award holds special significance, as it reflects the team’s collective effort and success in challenging overseas conditions. The ICC Player of the Month awards celebrate individual excellence and impactful contributions to the game. The recognition of Farhan and Reddy highlights their growing influence in international cricket and underlines their importance to their respective teams ahead of upcoming global competitions.
