HP launches AI-powered ‘IQ’ PCs to accelerate enterprise adoption

HP Inc. has unveiled a new lineup of high-performance personal computers integrated with on-device artificial intelligence, alongside a dedicated software platform called “IQ,” in a move aimed at boosting enterprise adoption of AI technologies.

The newly introduced systems are designed to process AI workloads directly on the device rather than relying extensively on cloud-based infrastructure. This shift toward on-device AI is expected to deliver faster performance, lower latency, and enhanced data security—factors that are increasingly critical for businesses handling sensitive information.

At the centre of the announcement is HP’s “IQ” platform, an intelligent software layer that works in tandem with advanced hardware to optimise computing performance and streamline workflows. The platform enables features such as real-time data processing, automation of routine tasks, and personalised user experiences, thereby improving overall productivity in enterprise environments.

The AI PCs are powered by modern processors equipped with Neural Processing Units (NPUs), which are specifically designed to handle machine learning and AI-related tasks efficiently. By embedding these capabilities into the hardware, HP aims to reduce dependence on external computing resources while enabling organisations to deploy AI solutions more seamlessly across their operations.

The launch reflects a broader trend within the technology industry, where companies are increasingly focusing on developing AI-native devices capable of executing complex algorithms locally.
