Ranbir Kapoor has shared new insights into his upcoming film Ramayana, calling it a massive cinematic project with a total runtime of nearly six hours. The film will be released in two parts, positioning it among the most ambitious ventures in Indian cinema.

Speaking about the scale of the project, Kapoor compared it to The Lord of the Rings, stating that the film aims to match the grandeur and storytelling depth of globally acclaimed epics. He highlighted that the movie will combine high-end visual effects with emotionally rich storytelling rooted in the timeless Indian mythological narrative.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film is being developed as a two-part saga, with both installments contributing to the overall extended runtime. Kapoor indicated that work on the project is progressing steadily, with significant efforts already underway on the second part as well.

The actor emphasised that while the film will feature large-scale action and visual spectacle, it will remain grounded in core themes such as duty, righteousness, and the triumph of good over evil. These elements, he noted, are central to the original epic and will form the emotional backbone of the adaptation.

Produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana is expected to be one of the costliest films ever made in India. With a star-studded cast and cutting-edge technology, the project is being positioned as a global cinematic offering. The first part is expected to release around Diwali 2026, with the second installment to follow later, generating strong anticipation among audiences.
