Today, Union Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju was present at a press conference in Kolkata. At the outset of his address, he stated that there was a time when what West Bengal thought, the entire nation followed. But today, it is evident how much the state has declined. He said that to restore West Bengal’s lost glory, the Trinamool must be removed from power in the state. He added that from Siliguri to Kolkata, and across the lanes and bylanes of the city, an atmosphere for change has already been created. The people will oust the Trinamool, and this is inevitable. He asserted with conviction that the BJP will form the government in West Bengal.
He also expressed deep disappointment over the non-passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill. He stated that even if it takes time, the bill will eventually be passed, and the BJP will continue to work tirelessly for women. He remarked with concern that despite being a woman, the Chief Minister’s party opposed the Women’s Reservation Bill and put forward various excuses. He said that the anti-women stance of such political parties has now come to light.
Issues such as infiltration, minority appeasement, and women’s safety were also highlighted in his speech. Concluding his address, he expressed confidence in the people of Bengal, stating that this time they will vote for change.
