Unauthorized Gathering Near Strong Room Sparks Tension In Midnapore

Midnapore, West Bengal : Tension briefly escalated in Midnapore city following an unauthorized gathering outside a strong room after the elections, leading to a confrontation between supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Trinamool Congress (TMC).
According to local sources, workers and supporters from both political parties assembled outside the strong room premises, where election-related materials are being kept under security. The situation reportedly turned tense after a dispute broke out over which group had gathered first and the purpose of the gathering.
As the argument intensified, both sides accused each other of violating election rules and regulations. The exchange of allegations soon created unrest in the area, raising concerns over security around the sensitive strong room zone In response, a large police force was deployed to the spot. Police personnel intervened promptly, dispersed the supporters of both parties, and cleared the area to prevent any further escalation. Security arrangements in and around the strong room have also been tightened. The administration has made it clear that no unauthorized gathering will be allowed near the strong room premises. Officials said the matter is being closely monitored and that necessary action will be taken if any violation is found.
Although the incident caused temporary tension in the locality, police sources confirmed that the situation is now under control.
