Calcutta High Court Declines Urgent Relief Against Proposed Bulldozer Action at Tiljala Factory

News Mania Desk/ 14th May 2026

The Calcutta High Court has declined to grant urgent relief against proposed demolition action at a fire-hit allegedly illegal factory in Tiljala.

During the hearing, the court reportedly observed that the concerned parties must first file a proper petition before seeking immediate intervention against the proposed “bulldozer action.” The matter relates to a factory structure that allegedly suffered damage in a recent fire incident and is accused of operating without necessary legal permissions.

The petitioners sought urgent judicial protection to prevent demolition or eviction measures. However, the court stated that without a formally instituted petition and complete documentation, interim relief could not be granted at this stage.

The issue has drawn attention amid wider political and legal debates surrounding demolition drives and administrative action against allegedly unauthorized structures in different parts of the country.

Authorities are expected to proceed according to legal procedures while further hearings may take place once a formal petition is filed before the court.
