The Uttar Pradesh government has intensified security arrangements across the state ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directing officials to maintain strict vigilance in sensitive districts to ensure peaceful celebrations. During a review meeting with senior police and administrative officers, the Chief Minister instructed authorities to strengthen law and order measures, especially in areas considered communally sensitive. Officials were asked to remain on high alert and take preventive action against any attempt to disturb public peace during the festival.
The administration has ordered increased police deployment in major cities, marketplaces, mosques, and other crowded public locations where large gatherings are expected. Security personnel have also been directed to carry out regular patrolling and maintain close coordination with intelligence agencies to monitor any suspicious activity.
Authorities said social media platforms would be closely monitored to prevent the circulation of rumours, provocative messages, or misinformation that could create tension. Officials have been instructed to respond quickly to any incident capable of affecting communal harmony.
The state government has also issued guidelines regarding the conduct of animal sacrifice during Eid-ul-Azha celebrations. Local administrations and municipal bodies have been asked to ensure that sacrifices take place only at designated locations and in accordance with legal and environmental regulations. Civic agencies have further been directed to maintain sanitation and ensure proper disposal of waste during the festival period.
To promote communal harmony, district officials have been holding peace committee meetings with religious leaders, community representatives, and local residents. The government believes such coordination will help maintain a peaceful atmosphere across the state.
Special security arrangements are being implemented in western Uttar Pradesh and other districts considered sensitive due to past incidents during festivals. Officials said all departments have been instructed to work together to ensure that Eid-ul-Azha celebrations are conducted smoothly and without any untoward incidents across the state.
