BNCCI Hosts Felicitation and Interactive Session with Iceland Ambassador in Kolkata

The Bengal National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BNCCI) organized a Felicitation and Interactive Session with H.E. Mr. Benedikt Hoskuldsson, Ambassador of Iceland to India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, at the BNCCI Auditorium in Kolkata on June 4, 2026.
The event brought together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, academicians, and chamber members to discuss opportunities for strengthening bilateral relations between India and Iceland. The programme began with the national anthems of both countries, followed by the Ambassador’s felicitation.
Welcoming the gathering, BNCCI President Ashoke Kumar Banik emphasized the importance of expanding international partnerships in trade, investment, and knowledge exchange. A keynote address by Satyam Roychowdhury, Chancellor of Sister Nivedita University and former BNCCI President, highlighted the growing significance of global collaboration in education, innovation, and industry.
Ambassador Benedikt Hoskuldsson shared insights into Iceland’s economic landscape, renewable energy expertise, sustainability initiatives, and potential areas of cooperation with Indian businesses and institutions. An interactive discussion enabled participants to engage directly with the Ambassador on matters of mutual interest.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ritwik Das, Chairman of BNCCI’s Industry & Foreign Trade Committee, reaffirming the Chamber’s commitment to fostering international engagement and strengthening business ties between Eastern India and global partners.
