The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has undertaken a fresh organisational restructuring exercise, appointing two new national joint secretaries as part of a broader effort to strengthen the party’s internal framework ahead of key political challenges. The changes, announced by the party leadership, are aimed at enhancing coordination between the central leadership and grassroots units while reinforcing the organisation’s presence both within and outside West Bengal.
The latest reshuffle comes as the ruling party in West Bengal continues to review its organisational structure in preparation for future electoral contests. Party leaders said the appointments are intended to improve administrative efficiency, streamline communication and ensure better implementation of organisational decisions across various levels.
According to the revised organisational list, senior leaders have been assigned new responsibilities, while several existing positions have been restructured to create a more dynamic and responsive leadership team. The inclusion of two new national joint secretaries is being viewed as a move to strengthen the party’s national outreach and improve coordination with units operating in different states.
The reorganisation has been carried out under the guidance of TMC chairperson Mamata Banerjee and the party’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee. Sources within the party indicated that the leadership has been assessing organisational performance over the past several months and identified the need for structural adjustments to address emerging political and administrative requirements.
Political observers believe the move reflects the party’s strategy of consolidating its organisational base while preparing for upcoming elections. The leadership has repeatedly emphasised the importance of maintaining a strong grassroots network and ensuring that party workers remain closely connected with voters.
The reshuffle also follows a series of internal reviews conducted after recent electoral contests. Party officials said the objective is to create a more efficient and accountable organisational system capable of responding quickly to political developments.
With the latest appointments and redistribution of responsibilities, the Trinamool Congress has signalled its intent to strengthen its organisational machinery and sharpen its political strategy as it gears up for future electoral battles in West Bengal and beyond.
