NASA Tracks Two Near-Earth Asteroids Passing Safely by the Planet
News Mania Desk/ Piyal Chatterjee/ 9th June 2026

NASA scientists monitored the close passage of two near-Earth asteroids that flew past the planet without posing any danger. The space rocks, each estimated to be about the size of an aircraft, were tracked as part of the agency’s ongoing planetary defence efforts. Experts emphasised that such encounters are relatively common and provide valuable opportunities to study asteroid trajectories and enhance systems designed to detect potential future threats.
