Maj Gen Rachel Thomas Appointed Additional Director General of Military Nursing Service

Major General Rachel Thomas assumed the appointment of Additional Director General, Military Nursing Service (MNS) on June 1, 2026. An alumna of the Armed Forces Medical College, she was commissioned into the Military Nursing Service on June 1, 1988, and brings nearly four decades of distinguished clinical, leadership, and administrative experience within the Armed Forces Medical Services.Throughout her career, Maj Gen Thomas has held a range of key appointments, contributing significantly to military healthcare delivery, nursing administration, and patient care standards across the services.
She succeeds Major General Lissamma P.V., who superannuated on May 31, 2026, after completing four decades of dedicated service to the nation.
